About the Speaker
As the Director of Embedded Sales Group and Ultra Mobility Group of Intel Asia Pacific, Michael Chen is responsible for driving the business growth of Intel embedded & communications products and mobile internet devices (MIDs), building Intel's technology leadership in embedded, communications and MIDs market, and driving roadmap planning and platform positioning with Intel's customers and industry partners. The platforms are covered and defined by Intel's Mobility Group, Digital Enterprise Group, Digital Home Group and Digital Health Group with major focus on embedded computing, wireless networking, communications infrastructure, network storage, optical product, digital video broadcast STB, network processor, flash products and MIDs in the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to his current appointment, Michael was the Co-Director of Product & Platform Marketing Group of Intel Asia Pacific, responsible for driving roadmap planning and platform positioning with Intel's customers and industry partners in support of product ramps. The platforms are covered and defined by Intel's Mobility Group, Digital Enterprise Group, Digital Home Group and Digital Health Group with major focus on wireless handset & handhelds, flash products, wireless networking, communications infrastructure, network storage and embedded computing. Prior to that, Michael worked as Director of Intel Asia Pacific Communications Marketing & Sales (ACMS) focusing on leading efforts in the marketing and sales of Intel's communications products during 2004-2005. Before that Michael also worked as Communications District Sales Manager for Intel Taiwan since 2000 to drive the business development and growth for Intel's communications products. He successfully achieved iPAQ as Intel's first StrongARM design win case in handheld device.
Michael joined Intel in 1998 and has held different sales and marketing roles during his tenure at Intel. He was the Regional Sales Manager for Digital Semiconductor Product Line after Intel's acquisition of Digital Semiconductor, and served as the Regional Product Marketing Manager for Communications Enhanced Product Group.
Michael has strong connections with the Taiwan IT industry. Before joining Intel, Michael was the Country Manager for Digital Semiconductor Taiwan. He accumulated vast experiences in sales and marketing by holding various positions for local IT and component distribution companies.
Michael received his MBA degree from the National Chung Tsing University and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industry Design from the Tatung University.
