Abstract
A new generation of Wi-Fi
Ralink Technology Corporation
In the past 10 years, Wi-Fi technology has been evolving from 802.11b,g/a and n with raw data rate from 1Mbps up to 600Mbps. With more applications adopting Wi-Fi, the standards committee is defining the next-generation technologies to meet the market requirements. The presentation covers the market trend, the current issues and next-generation of Wi-Fi.
About the Speaker
Rick Jeng, President and Co-founder
Rick Jeng is President and co-founder of Ralink Technology. Ralink Technology was founded in 2000 working on Wi-Fi chipsets. Prior to starting Ralink, Rick Jeng worked on IC design in various fields like fixed broadband wireless, Ethernet switch, 3D graphics workstation, supercomputer CPU with Villa Montage Communication, Silicon Graphics, Evans, Sutherland Computer Division, and LSI Logic since 1985. Mr. Jeng holds Master of Electrical Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University.

Ronald Cheng, Director of Entry Phones Program Management

Ronald began his career with Infineon Technologies (former Siemens Semiconductor) in Hong Kong in October 1997. He is the Program Manager for ULC Program, responsible for ULC platform and customer projects. Ronald took various job positions in past years including DECT baseband and Software support, GSM Software support, Test and Delivery department management and platform project management. He took lead in platform projects BP21, ULC1 and ULC2. Ronald left Infineon between Feb 2000 and
2002 for his own business. During Ronald's career with Infineon he worked 1 year in Germany and Austria and he spent about 4 years in Shanghai between 2004 and 2007. Ronald holds a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from University of Wisconsin at Madison, and a master degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University in New York City.
He is currently attending Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program.

Julian Hsu, Regional Director, Greater China and South Asia
Julian Hsu is responsible for the regional operations of Greater China and South Asia at MontaVista Software. He has 10 years of experience in embedded software and development tools.
Prior to joining MontaVista Software, Julian worked for ELT Inc., Taiwan Branch as General Manager. He also became business development manager for the development tools group of Wind River Systems.
Julian has a MS in Computer Engineering and Science from Yuan-Ze University, and a BS in Information Computer Engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University.
