Abstract
Improving energy efficiency in electronic devices
Microchip Technology Inc
This presentation covers the latest technology trends that can improve energy efficiency, while reducing power consumption. See illustrations of focused examples being applied within horizontal markets, such as motor-control and digital power conversion.
The presentation will include discussion of technologies that increase efficiency in digital power management and conversion, resulting in cost and space savings, lower noise, increased reliability and at the same time protection of intellectual property.
About the Speaker
Dr Chuck Li, Senior Regional Sales Manager
Dr Chuck Li is responsible for the strategic planning and market growth of Microchip in Taiwan, including sales development, market positioning and geographical expansion throughout the region.
Dr Li joined Microchip Technology Taiwan as regional sales manager in 2001 and was promoted to senior regional sales manager in 2005.
An industry veteran with more than 15 years of electronics experience, Dr Li has been employed in various research and development (R&D) projects in the US automotive and hard disk industries.
Following his return to Taiwan in 1998, Dr Li took up an R&D role in the Computer & Communications Research Laboratories of the Industrial Technology Research Institution, where he held various positions from quality control, to technical marketing and management.
Dr Li holds a Double Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Science, as well as a doctor's degree in electrical engineering from the Michigan State University. He also received an EMBA degree from National Cheng Chi University's Graduate Institute of Technology and Innovation Management in Taiwan in 2007.

About the Speaker
Mike Mui, Senior Director, Regional Marketing
Mike Mui is the Regional Marketing Senior Director for Greater China region of the Multimarket Semiconductors business unit at NXP Semiconductors, the newly independent semiconductor company founded by Philips. As a veteran with more than 17 years experience in the semiconductor industry, Mike is now responsible for all the regional sales and marketing related activities within the MMS business unit across Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
In this role, Mike manages the team that develops strategy for Multimarket Semiconductors business unit with a focus on delivering comprehensive and fully supported product line to the Greater China market. Mike has also successfully established a local supporting team including FAE and marketing for the business unit in the region.
Mike joined NXP Semiconductors (then Philips Semiconductors) in 1994 as Sales Engineer responsible for China OEM sales activities. Since then, Mike has been appointed several sales and marketing management positions within the company. Before taking the current role, Mike was the Asia Regional Marketing Director of the Multimarket Semiconductors business unit at NXP Semiconductors.
Prior to joining NXP Semiconductors, Mike had 3 years experience of working in Hong Kong semiconductor distributor and OEM for PC and peripherals.
Mike earned an honored degree of Bachelor of Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently working in Taipei, Taiwan.
